Billy Don Rice went home to Jesus on June 19, 2021, at the age of 86.
Billy was born to James and Mattie Rice on October 14, 1934 in Quanah, Texas. He was spoiled by two loving sisters; Bobbie Inmon and the late Ruby Rice Doherty. He loved classic cars, sports, country and gospel music, western television shows and junk food. More than anything else, he loved his family. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a smile on his face!
Billy married his wife, Anna Florence Reed on January 6, 1952 in Vernon, Texas. They went on to have six children; Mike Rice, Billy Rice , Bobbie (Susie) Miller, Deanna Swenson-grown, Linda Trotter and Greg Rice. He was a man blessed with a big and loving family which includes six children, sixteen grandkids, thirty-six great-grandkids, seventeen great-great grandkids and many nieces and nephews!
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Billy also loved Jesus Christ. Throughout his entire life, he held on unwavering faith in God, which he passed on, to all of his family and friends.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife Anna Reed Rice, his daughter Bobbie "Susie" Lanelle Miller, his parents James Rice and Mattie Rice Russum and sister Ruby Rice Doherty.
2 Corinthians 5:6-8 - "So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. "
Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Nelson officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Tuesday June 22, 2021 at 12:30 to service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or Electra Memorial Hospital.
