Longtime VDOT Engineer Was Life Line Ministries Member
Charles Leroy Williams, 84, of Warm Springs, Virginia died Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1936 in Highland County, Virginia, the son of the late Charles Edwin Williams and Bertha Faye Griffin Williams.
Mr. Williams was an Engineer with the Virginia Department of Transportation with 34 years of service.
He was a member of Life Line Ministries; and loved hunting and the great outdoors.
Mr. Williams was a "work-a-holic", always lending a hand to his friends and neighbors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Ellen Riley Williams of Warm Springs; two children, Deborah J. Harris and husband, Ronald of Appomattox, Virginia, Charles Leroy Williams, Jr. and wife, Tracey of Bolar, Virginia; grandchildren, Susan Arrington and husband, Dan, Sharon Shelton and husband, Alan, Andrew Williams, and Nikolas Williams; great grandchildren, Addison, Autumn, Ella, and Ava; brother, Edwin Williams and wife, Carole of Staunton, Virginia; and sister, Sue Saris and husband, James of Frederick, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Charles Leroy Williams III; three sisters, Thelma Grissom, Lois Pullins, and Doris Moyers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Neff officiating. Interment will be in Big Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Saris, Andrew Williams, Nickolas Williams, Dan Arrington, Phillip Martin.
