Coventry Man Dies Suddenly In 51st Year in Summit

James Edward Dorothy, 50, of Victory Highway, Coventry, died suddenly yesterday afternoon while assisting his daughter's fiance to prepare the couple's future home on Main Street in Summit. Dr. James J. Flanagan, Cranston medical examiner, attributed death to a heart attack.
Mr Dorothy, a supervisor of metal finishing for Federal Products, Inc. of Providence, formerly lived in Edgewood and North Attleboro.
He was born in Beverly, Mass., June 14, 1902, the son of the William S. and Laura A (Gould) Dorothy. He was a member of Harmony Lodge, F & A.M.,. Pawtuxet.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth E Caldwell; two sons, Edward F. of West Warwick and Willis L. of Coventry; three daughters, Mrs. Earle R. Whittaker of Natick, Mrs. John E Reynolds of Coventry Center and Miss Carol M. Dorothy, fiancee of John Matthews, at whose Summit home Mr. Dorothy was stricken, and three grand-children.
Also Surviving are two sisters, Mrs Florence Caldwell and Mrs. Elsie Navin, and a brother, William C. Dorothy, all of North Attleboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1p.m. at the Frank R. Gorton & Sons Funeral Home of 721 Washington Street, Anthony. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, North Attleboro.
