Paul E. Stewart, 81, of Wilton, formerly of Muscatine, slipped into eternity on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Wilton Retirement Community in Wilton, Iowa due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. Visitation for Paul will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Walnut Park Baptist Church in Muscatine. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Immediately following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Private family burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Grandview Cemetery Avenue of Flags Expansion Project in memory of Paul. Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for Paul's family and arrangements.

Paul Ernest Stewart was born on March 20, 1940, in Albia, Iowa the son of Russell and Alice Ryan Stewart. He was a 1959 graduate of Moravia High School. On August 11, 1963, Paul was united in marriage to Elaine K. Free in Moravia. To this union they had three children, Dennis (Mary) Stewart of Oskaloosa, Leanne (Rich) Delever of Moscow and Ryan (Pamela) Stewart of Letts; eight grandchildren, Austin Stewart, Jordan Stewart, Maddison Stewart, Jakob Johnson, Nikolas Johnson, Lilly Schwab, Lea Stewart and Jaynee Stewart and four great grandchildren, Zoey Stewart, Piper Stewart, Paisley Stewart and Macey Stewart.

Paul worked for Thatcher Tubes for 14 years and following its closing, Paul worked for Monsanto until his retirement in 2000. Paul was a member of the Fruitland Baptist Church and later Walnut Park Baptist Church. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time in the garage working on many things.

Paul will also be missed by his siblings, Wilbur (Janet) Stewart of Albia, Russell Stewart, Jr. of Albia and Marsha (Jim) Willetts of Rathburn.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Alex Johnson and sister, Virginia Bakalar.
