Edward Joe Lewis, 82, Twelve Mile, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport, IN.

Born February 14, 1939, at the home cottage at Lake Manitou in Fulton County, Indiana, he was the son of Joe Howard Lewis and Beatrice Pauline 'Bea' (Briney) Lewis. On November 22, 1962, at the Metea Baptist Church, he was married to Betty Gail Coffing, and she survives.

He was a member of the Metea Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran, having served from 1962 to 1967. He retired from Lau Corporation in Rochester and owned and operated, with his wife and son, a small farm northwest of Twelve Mile. He enjoyed woodworking and working on his property, spending many hours with his son, Doug, mowing the grass on their John Deere tractors. He had a love for fishing and took many trips over the years with friends who shared the same passion.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lewis, and son, Douglas Joe Lewis; a sister, Roxann (Marvin) Murphy; sister-in-law, Judy Lewis; the many members of the Coffing family, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry E. Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the Metea Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the Metea Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service, at the church.
