A memorial service will be held at Vineville United Methodist Church, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021. Inurnment will be at the Westminister Presbyterian Church Columbarium, in Upper Saint Clair, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Gregory was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Howard Merle Barnum and the late Florence Hansen Barnum.
She graduated from Oliver High School and Goucher College, and was employed as an executive security at United States Steel Corporation in Pittsburgh, where she met and married Marcus W.C. Gregory.
She also taught piano for many years in Upper Saint Clair, Pennsylvania. Dorothy and Marc moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1988 and lived at the Landings on Skidaway Island, where they enjoyed golfing, traveling, and being involved in civic and church activities for 19 years. They moved to Carlyle Place, a continuing care retirement community in Macon, Georgia, in 2006.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marcus W.C. Gregory; son, James Barnum Gregory (Ellen) of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandsons, Christopher and Alexander Gregory; brother, Howard Barnum (Diane) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; beloved niece, Jennifer Barnum Gluck (Charles); and nephews, Stephen Barnum (Donna), and Tom Barnum
