Gary Lee Edwards, 74, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021.

A family burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid, Iowa.

Gary was born October 25, 1946, in Des Moines, IA, to Earl and Martha (Gordon) Edwards.

He married Kathleen (Carroll) Edwards on November 6, 1965, in Granger, Iowa.

Gary worked as a farm hand at ISU in 1966. He then began working for John Deere in 1966 as a manufacturer and was there until his retirement in 1997.

He joined the Unites States Army Reserve in 1967 and served until 1972.

He was an Iowa State University sports fan as well as a Madrid Tigers Fan.
He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and NASCAR.

Gary liked to fish, even traveling to Canada every year in search of the biggest catch. His favorite thing was to be with his grandchildren and to spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family for a future memorial.
