Shirley Seaburn-Steele

Shirley June (Grace) Seaburn Steele, age 91, passed peacefully on June 18, 2021; she was a long-term resident at Bayley in Delhi, OH. Prior to moving to Bayley in 2015, Shirley lived in the Cincinnati suburbs of Bridgetown and Montfort Heights.
Shirley had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. During her high school days, she was active in musicals and plays and as an adult, performed with the Sweet Adeline's. After her graduation from high school she worked in a secretarial position at a local radio station in Sharon, WPIC. In 1949 she married Ralph J. Seaburn, Jr.; they had 4 children and in 1961 relocated from Sharon, PA to Cincinnati, OH. Their marriage ended in 1966. After her divorce, Shirley stayed in Cincinnati and worked for 25 years in the News Department at WLW-T as Secretary and News Assistant to 10 News Directors. Shirley married Eugene (Gene) Steele in 1978. She and Gene were happily married for 29 years before his passing in 2007.
Shirley was a loving, kind and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt, wife, and friend. Besides her love of music, she enjoyed reading, collecting David Winter cottages, her work at WLW-T, cooking, and being with family and friends. She is survived by three of her four children, Sheryl (David) Sturm of Eagan, MN; Sheila Hudson of Overland Park, KS; and Brad (Lynne) Seaburn of Delhi, OH. In addition to her children and their spouses, she is survived by 6 grandchildren (Jake Hudson, Sam Sturm, Joe Hudson, Steve Sturm, Eric Seaburn, Amanda Hacker) and their spouses as well as 9 great-grandchildren, her younger brother Jack (Shirley) Grace, two nieces, four nephews, and stepchildren Ronnie Steele, Michael Steele, and Deb Ogels. She is pre-deceased by her daughter Kerry Seaburn, two premature infants (Cindy and Richard), and her older brother, Floyd (Butch) Grace.
The family wishes to extend their thanks for the excellent and loving care provided by the staff at Bayley who took care of Shirley for 6 years and by Hospice of Cincinnati. Shirley was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and all those who knew her. Both visitation and service will be held on June 25, 2021 at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati 45247 (Montfort Heights).
