Russ worked for Potter's furniture and Martin's Potato Chips. He was a 1953 graduate of York High School. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where he was active in Sunday School. He was an active golfer and bowler. Russ was a member of the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club International.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debra Holtzinger and her husband Terry of York, Gail Hedrick of York; four grandchildren R. Steve Moats of Hummelstown, Dave Hedrick, Jr. of York, Holly Holtzinger of York, Kay Holtzinger of Black Mountain, NC; a sister Rosa Kenyon of Dover and a sister-in-law of Sandy Potter of York. He was preceded in death by son-in-law David Hedrick, a brother Kenneth Potter and a brother-in-law Dexter Kenyon.
A funeral service will he held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 367 Tyler Run Road, York, with Rev. Dale Parker officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pleasant Acres Auxiliary, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402 or to White Rose Hospice, 1412 6th Avenue, York, PA 17403.
