David Lee "Dog" Kelly, born June 22, 1949 to Oran Lee "Boots" Kelly and Hazel (Dempsey) Kelly passed from this life on June 14, 2021 at his home in Sand Springs, OK.
David grew up and attended school in Sand Springs, OK where he was a member of the 1966 state champion football team. He later married Linda Kay Kepner on August 12, 1972 at Trinity Baptist Church. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2020.
David was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son: Forrest L. Kelly and wife, Elizabeth, of Sand Springs, OK. 2 Grandsons: Kaden L. Kelly and Kooper R. Kelly. Sister: Pam Tameny of Sand Springs, OK, her daughter Shannon Kane of Tulsa, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
David had several hobbies in life. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and gambling. Over the past 10 years, David exhibited his compassion and love for others to family and friends by being Linda's sole caregiver.
A Memorial Service for David will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 10:00AM at Legacy Chapel-Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs, OK. A Celebration of Life Gathering for David and Linda will be held at The Hampton Inn-Sand Springs, OK immediately following the memorial until 2:00 p.m.
Services have been entrusted to the care of Dillon Funeral Service, Sand Springs, OK.
