Richard Ollie Monroe Reed, Sr., 82 of Huntsville, passed away Sat. June 19, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Reed was born Aug. 12, 1938 in Madison County to Marvin Reed and Mable Blanch Baucom Reed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild, Brandy Thompson, two brothers, George Reed and Dillard Reed.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Reed, one son, Richard Reed, Jr. (Stacy); two daughters, Linda Taylor (Michael); Brenda Norman (Randall); two sisters, Mildred Raymond (Dwight); Pearlie Pepper (Bobby); eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Reed was an Air Force veteran, and he was an avid horseman. He enjoyed yardwork and gardening.

Funeral service will be Monday, June 21, 2021 at 2 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be Monday from 1 – 2 p.m. Burial will be at Bottoms Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Norman, Aaron Norman, Matthew Norman, Jonathon Taylor, Richard Reed, Jr., and Michael Taylor. Honorary pallbearer will be Jacob Thompson.
