Betty Jean McBee was born on April 23, 1942, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of children born from the union of Floyd and Margaret (Broom) McBee, Sr. Betty attended Monroe High School. Later, in life she received her High School Diploma.

Betty liked playing Bingo anywhere she could. She especially enjoyed being the one shouting "Bingo!". She valued attending local garage sales and flea markets in Tennessee, with her husband. The duo would intricately explore the sales so they could always snatch up the best deal. Betty always wanted to be shopping. In fact, she once woke up from a sleep and proclaimed she wanted to get ready to go shopping!

Betty enjoyed being employed at Hilltoppers in Tennessee as a Direct Support Professional (Caregiver) for many years. She raised shih tzu dogs and lovingly adored her own pet, she named Peanut. Above anything, Betty treasured her family. She would cook for the Holidays just so her family would all gather to celebrate. Betty appreciated taking road trips with her family and her husband; they would travel to up north, Michigan or to anywhere down south. Her preferred method of travel was always by car, as she would not dare to fly on an airplane.
