Carol Elizabeth (Johnson) Rush passed away Sunday in her home after a short illness.
Carol was born on February 7, 1930 in Moline, IL. She died on January 31, 2021 in Peoria, AZ at age 90. Carol graduated from Elgin (IL) High School in 1948. She was married to James A. Rush in Moline on June 16, 1950. Her husband was a long-time employee of the John Deere Harvester Works. Carol is survived by James and her family - (sons) David (Phoenix, AZ), Robert (Chicago, IL), and Richard (Belmont, CA), five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
After marrying, Carol worked at Montgomery Elevator (Moline) and later at John Deere Insurance (Moline) in the group claims department. She and Jim were active in the First Presbyterian Church (East Moline) and the Quad-cities community until they moved to Arizona during the mid-1990s.
In Arizona she was active with the Sun City Country Club and volunteered with the food bank.
Carol enjoyed socializing and hosting gatherings in her home. She loved playing cards and other games, traveling and laughing with her family and friends, old and new. She loved her grandkids and great grand kids and was fortunate to travel extensively during her retirement. She is missed by those who knew her kind and gentle nature.
