Max Sell, 76, of 110 W. Mitchell St., Milwaukee, former resident of the Iron Ridge area, died Wednesday at the Milwaukee County General Hospital.


He was born Nov. 18, 1889, in Germany. He married Elsie Wegner, in 1922. She died May 5.


Mr. Sell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Schmidt, Beaver Dam, and Mrs. Sidney Rosenthal, Iron Ridge; two sons, Milton and Gordon, Mayville; one brother, Otto Sell, Juneau; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.


Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the Koepsel Funeral Home, Mayville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Rev. Gerhard Nass officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Mayville.

Max Sell, 76, Milwaukee, former resident of the Iron Ridge area, died last Wednesday in Milwaukee County General hospital. He had been in failing health for some time.


Funeral services were held Saturday morning at the Koepsell Funeral Home, the Rev. Gerhard Nass officiating. Burial was in Graceland cemetery.


Mr. Sell was born in Germany on Nov. 18, 1889. He was married to Elsie Wegner in Iron Ridge in 1922. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1966.


Before moving to Milwaukee, Mr. Sell had been employed at the Mayville White Lime Works at Browns Corners.


Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Schmidt, Beaver Dam, and Mrs. Sidney Rosenthal, Iron Ridge; two sons, Milton and Gordon Sell, Mayville; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Otto Sell, Juneau.


One sister preceded him in death.
