Born on September 14, 1923, in Amherst, Nebraska, and died in Olympia, Washington, on June 8, 2021.

Alice lived in Yelm, Washington, with her husband, Joe, until he died on July 3, 2016. She continued to live on the farm until she suffered a stroke and moved to Foss Nursing Home in Seattle, then to Nisqually Nursing Home, and finally to Roo Lan Nursing Home in Olympia.

Alice served in the U.S. Army (1942-1944) and remained active with the WAC group until her death. She traveled extensively with Joe on his Air Force Reserve travels. She always valued her time in support of her husband and her family. Alice was a caring person who valued learning and doing for others. She will be missed.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Ethel Zessin; and sister, Ardath. She is survived by her son, John Kersting; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ray and Larry Zessin; and several nieces and nephews.
