John L. Elmore, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born on January 26, 1950 to Rush and Valerie (Liptay) Elmore in Nasa Co., NY. He was a proud veteran serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. John dedicated many years working at Golden Valley Electric, in Healy, AK as an equipment operator, before retiring in 2001. He married the love of his life. There they created a home and built their very own bed and breakfast. Together they loved to travel, but they eventually found their way back to Muskegon, MI. They spent their winters tucked away in Florida, enjoying their time playing cards or racing boats with friends. John had a love for remote control equipment gadgets. You could usually find him building and creating gadgets and gizmos at all times. He truly enjoyed spending his time in his "glorified sandbox" in Florida testing out his creations. He was a man of many talents and always kept himself on the go with new projects. He was a kind and welcoming spirit who genuinely liked everyone. John will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, daughter, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rush Hone II; and sister, Darrel Burrows.
