May Willene Collins, "Willene", was born on May 1st, 1940, in Scott, OK, thirty miles north of Anadarko, the daughter of Clifton "CC" and Eva Lucille Thomason. She was raised with three brothers and two sisters, Mildred, Melvin, Gene, Melba, and Bobby. The family relocated to Hobbs, NM where she would attend school. She would later meet and marry her best friend, Junior "Ray" Collins, and they were wed on July 23rd, 1964, and together they enjoyed 49 years of happy memories and raised four children together, Kenneth, Kimberly, Brian and David Collins. She was first and foremost a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her first thought of the morning and the last one at night. She was a good cook, and made her family a wide variety of hamburgers, potato salad, and any number of sweet treats. Weekly the children were taken to the library to pick out books they wanted to read. She possessed a strong will, and a funny sense of humor. She was loving, kind and sweet. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family. The family had ties to Hobbs, NM, and she often went between the two locations. She loved music, and you were probably going to hear anything from Elvis to Loretta Lynn and gospel favorites. Visiting was always a good time for Willene. As she became older, she loved to go to Daybreak, and play bingo and catch up on the latest from eldercare. She would light up visiting her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2013, she lost Ray. She continued with her family, enjoying special moments and going to eldercare. Her faith in the Lord sustained her until her passing on June 16th, 2021 at her home. She was 81 years old and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandparents, her husband Ray, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kenneth Collins of Hobbs, NM, Kimberly Burris and husband Travis of Bartlesville, OK, Brian Collins of Bartlesville and David Collins and wife Angela of Hobbs, NM. She lives on in her eight grandchildren, Brooke Burris of Dewey, Ok, Kamryn Collins of Hobbs, NM, Blaine Burris of Bartlesville, Chloe Collins of Hobbs, NM, Ciara Collins of Hobbs, NM, Savanah Collins of Hobbs, NM, Kaleb Collins of Hobbs, NM, and Joshua Collins of Hobbs, NM. She also leaves three adored great grandchildren, Corban Joseph, Cayden Joseph and Colson Joseph, as well as sister-in-laws, Debbie Thomason of Hobbs, NM, Ruby Hamilton of Fort Gibson, OK, and Lucille Moore of Woodall, OK, and Rose Sosa, her good friend in Hobbs, NM, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
