Born in the city of Bath in Aiken Co., she was a daughter of the late Luther G. Renew and Gladys Renew.
After a lifelong career in insurance as a benefits administrator, she retired from MetLife after twenty years of service, and she then completed her career with Kanawha and Humana insurance companies at the age of retirement.
Mom was the most compassionate and kind person. She selflessly dedicated her life to caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom lovingly called her Nana. She had the gift of service, which was evident by the way she cared for her entire family and showed resilience and perseverance throughout her life. Mom's greatest strength was her faith and love in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of West Gantt First Baptist Church where she served in the Ladies Bible Learners Sunday school class for many, many years.
She was loved by all that knew her, and she gave unconditional love in return. She will be greatly missed by the lives she touched.
She is survived by children, Curtis Thompson, Tracy Thompson, and Linda Swing (Rick); daughter-in-law, Felicia Thompson; grandchildren, Stacy Thompson Roy, Daniel Thompson, Hope Thompson Rhodes, Amanda Thompson Schuff, Neal Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Joshua Swing, Jordan Swing, and Danielle Swing Engel; eight great grands with one on the way; sisters, Jewel Napier and Yvonne Winter (David); brother, Chuck Renew (Ellen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Bucky Renew; and sisters, Barbara Thompson and Joyce Renew.
