He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Hall Cochran; two children: Samuel Hall and Guy (Julie) Hall of Midway.
There are three grandchildren: Thomas (Cheryl) Hall of College Station, TX, Kim (Philip) Lange of Charleston, SC, and Lela (Tyler) Kipping of Smyrna, GA, and three great-grandchildren: Sammy Hall, John Robert Hall, and Preston Lange.
Sam Hall was a life-long resident of Midway, involved in youth State 4-H program, graduated API (Auburn) with a degree in Agricultural Engineering, member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity and served in the Alabama National Guard and US Army for seven years. Sam's real passion and lifelong pursuit was farming various row crops and commercial beef cattle.
Sam was active in his community including serving on Midway Town Council, Bullock County School Board, the Gideons, Bullock County Farmer's Federation, Bullock County Cattlemen, and deacon at Midway Baptist Church.
A special thank you to all staff at John Knox Manor nursing home for their constant kindness and compassionate care for Sam over the last several years.
A graveside service will be held at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery at 125 Main Street, Midway AL 36053 on Saturday, January 2, 2020, at 3 pm with Rev. David Stewart officiating and Gray Funeral Home directing. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sam's life. The family requests masks are worn and social distancing be observed.
Memorial donations may be made to Midway Cemetery Association c/o Rob Adams, 678 Hwy 51N, Union Springs, AL 36089.
