William "Bill" Conrad Watts, 87 years old, passed away peacefully on Mother's Day, May 9th, 2021. Humble, kind, generous, supportive, fun, loving, loyal, honest and hilarious are just some of the words used to describe our wonderful Dad and Grandpa. Bill has always been there when anyone needed him up to the very end of his well lived life! He was always good for a funny joke or two and the King of "wathy-wathy" jokes. Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 7, 1933 and moved to El Paso during his childhood. He has been a proud lifelong resident of El Paso since that time until moving to Oklahoma City in 2019 in order to be closer to his children. Bill attended Ysleta High School, and graduated from Texas Western College in 1956 where he was President of his fraternity Phi Kappa Tau. It is there he met the love of his life, Sue Belle Lempert and they married in 1956 as well. They were married just shy of 40 wonderful years until her death in 1995. Bill started out his professional life in medical and surgical sales with Southwest Surgical Supply, and was part of the merger to General Medical. He took pride in later cofounding and co-owning West Texas Medical Supply Company until his retirement at 80 years old. Bill was highly respected by his peers, his employees, his vendors and his customers for his ethical business practices and for his vast knowledge of the industry. Bill married Barbara Childress, a longtime friend from Alamogordo, NM in 2005 and they enjoyed many years together until her death in 2015. They enjoyed traveling to visit their families all over the US. Bill is loved and cherished by his family! He is survived by his daughter Sheryl Ann and husband Carter Hines of Oklahoma City, OK; and his son William "Bill or Billy" C Watts, Jr of Frisco, TX. The loves of his life were his grandchildren Christopher and wife Alyssa Divis; Lindsey (Divis) and husband Drew Sterkel; Andrew Watts and Dani Watts; and bonus grandchildren Taylor and Meika Hines, Mary "Kassie" Hines and Megan Hines. His great grandchildren were his pride and joy: Hunter Divis Serlo, Harry Divis, and new baby boy Divis due in November; and bonus great grandchildren Julianna Sterkel, Teddy Sterkel, Jude Hines, Vivienne Hines, Violet Hines and Stella Hines. Bill is also survived by his two sisters, Linda (Ken ) Gragg and Janet Crowell all in Dallas, TX; and his sister in law, Sandra Lempert Reyes in El Paso, TX. Additional surviving family from his marriage to Barbara include her children Nita Barnes and granddaughter Shawnah LeClair and family; and Brad and Nita Childress and grandchildren Brandon Childress and Courtney Childress and family. Bill has many nieces, nephews and cousins (by marriage) that he has truly loved over the years. Bill is predeceased by his parents, William Claude and Helen Watts, his brother Richard "Dick" Watts, his in-laws Normand "Possy" and Isabelle Lempert and his brother and sister in law, Normand and Linda Lempert. Special thanks for the friendships that Bill included as part of his family are the families of Joel and Elsa Hendryx, Kenny and Sarahi Gross, Joe and Rita Divis, Paul and Tiffany Divis, Joann Uomoleale Watts, John and Lorene Stockton, Bill and Susie Juen, the Randy Calhoun family, Kathy and Rose Black, Jack and Barbara Joyce, Marlene Banks, Helen Holguin, Willie and Irene Estala, and Dr Betty Bowers. Until we meet in heaven to sing Mairzy Doats again Dad, we love you.
