William Patrick Riley, 86, of Muscoda died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison. He was born on April 14, 1935, the son of Thomas 'Dode' and Berniece (Lamke) Riley. Bill served his country in the US Navy from 1952-54. On December 31, 1955, he was united in marriage to Sharon Graham at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Highland. Bill began his working career beside his father and brothers as a painter. He held various other jobs but mainly worked as a truck driver until his retirement. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gambling, several times driving to Las Vegas.
Bill is survived by his children: Cindy (Bob) Maly, George Riley, Brian Riley, Amy (Chris Jensen) Riley all of Muscoda; Four grandchildren: Chelsea (Jeff) Cox of Muscoda, Riley (Beth Gutweiler) Jenson of Boscobel, Jason (Yolanda) Maly of Muscoda, Joel Maly of Westby; Five great-grandchildren: Allen Maly, Mandy Copus, Bentley Cox, Cora Cox, Amelia Jenson; Sister: Patricia Yanna of Highland; Brother: Tom (Lisa) Riley of Highland; Sisters-in-law: Georgia Riley of Highland, Shirley Hometh of Muscoda, Mary Bowen of Tuscola, IL; Many other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dode and Berniece; wife, Sharon; son, Bill Jr.; sister, Jane (Roman) Wiedholz; brothers, Jim Riley, Jack (Mary Lou) Riley; and brother-in-law Paul Yanna.
A private family burial with military graveside rites will be held at a later date in the Muscoda Cemetery. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
