Dale, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend – Dale, 48, of Holt, Michigan, crossed the final finish line and made his last hit on June 8, 2021.

He graduated from Leslie High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Dedie Mallory. They married and have spent 31 years together raising their two daughters. Dale completed his training to become a truck driver, earned his CDL license, and absolutely loved being a truck driver. When not behind the big wheel, he loved everything about cars and trucks. His favorite pastime was wrenching on cars and trucks and anything that involved rebuilding and enhancing motors. He not only enjoyed attending but also competed in: Demolition Derbies, dragstrips, car shows and swap meets. He also enjoyed tinkering and building fun little toys.

Dale will be remembered for his willingness to help others, especially if it involved working on cars. Everyone knew that they could always count on him to help.

Dale is survived by his best friend of 31 years and wife of 6 years, Dedie Ryan; mother, Joyce Ryan of Mason; father, Will (Kay) Ryan of Lansing; daughters, Shantell (Kenny Knowlton) Ryan and Shyann (Alana Thurman) Ryan; niece and nephew who were like a son and daughter, Cory Donaldson and Erika Bergman; siblings, Heather Sweezy and Shannon (Troy) Zuke; bonus sisters, Ginger (Jonathan) Buchanan and Jamie (David) Perkins; nieces and nephews: Miranda (CJ) Laurenty, Madeline Zuke, Kayla Zuke, Kurtis Zuke, Nathan (Makayla Cordero) Sweezy, Zach (Kelsey) Sweezy, and Dominique Sweezy; numerous other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: L.B. Ryan, Esther Ryan, Dorothy "Dot" Knapp, and Jim DeWigg; nephew, Anthony Sweezy; and brother-in-law, Kevin Sweezy. Also greeting him on the other side of the finish line are his 4 unborn grandchildren.

Friends and loved ones can offer support and condolences to the family at a viewing to be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Vickers Leslie Funeral Home, Leslie, Michigan.
