Hazel M. Dunn, age 101, passed away June 18, 2021, at 8:20 am, at The Springs of Lima.

Hazel was born October 13, 1919, in Lima, OH, to Marion Henry and Mary Edith (Hess) Miller who preceded her in death.

On April 25, 1954 she married William B. Dunn who preceded her in death on April 16, 1986.

Hazel was a 1938 graduate of Elida High School. She worked for a short time for Westinghouse and then she transferred to Marion, OH with her husband where she worked at the Marion Public Library until she retired.

When her husband passed she moved back to Lima. At that time she became a volunteer with St. Rita's Medical Center where she volunteered for more than 10 years.

Hazel was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elida.

She will be remembered as being a person of service and was known for her patience and grace for dealing with Guillian-Barre Syndrome which she bore for 19 years. She was always willing to help her family out in any way that she could.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, LaDean M. Johnson of Dover, DE, a step-son, Roger (Sharon) Dunn of Streetsboro, OH, 2 step grandchildren, 1 step great grandson, a brother, Robert Miller of Elida, OH, a brother, Marion (Betty) Miller of Grove City and a very close cousin, Evelyn Sarber of Elida. She also has many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil (Glenna) Miller and 2 sisters: Catherine (Marion) Koenig and Louise (Harold) Klopfenstein and a sister in-law, Martha Miller.

There will be a funeral service held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul Scannell. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Monday.

Friends may call on Monday at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Manor Adult Activities Fund.
