Obituary for Jeffrey Brooks Thomas
Jeff Thomas was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area by his parents, Paul and Jeanette Thomas. He was a proud alumnus of San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley and worked as a salesman and stockbroker before graduating from law school at UC Davis and working at the California Public Utilities Commission. From there, he began working for Pacific Bell Telephone Company, which is how he and his family ultimately wound up in Dallas, Texas, where he worked as in-house counsel for Southwestern Bell, then SBC, and finally AT&T. He retired from AT&T in 2019, shortly before his 71st birthday.

In his spare time, Jeff loved traveling (especially to nature, and particularly to Yosemite National Park), fishing, barbecuing, volunteer activities, reading, and playing/napping with the family dogs. A bibliophile and lifelong learner, he was especially enjoying taking a range of classes through the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture during his retirement. He relished a good argument on almost any topic and will be remembered for his deep generosity, intellectual curiosity, and wit.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 41 years, Belinda Thomas; his children, Elisabeth and Lisa Thomas; and his brother, Anthony Thomas
