Daniel Wilson Rowe, age 72, passed away on June 15, 2021.

He was born February 18, 1949 in Baldwin, Florida, a son of Norma Newsom Rowe and the late Joseph H. Rowe.

Dan worked for Tom Nehl Truck Company in Jacksonville, Florida as a mechanic for 15 years. During this time, he was one of the crew members for the Auriga Racing Team (Car #26) that won the 24 hours of Daytona in 1982.

He then went on to work with Crowley Liner Service in Jacksonville, Florida for 18 years.

He loved watching NASCAR, John Wayne movies, and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Rowe; his grandparents who he truly loved, Joseph Newsom and Irene Ryan Newsom. He is also predeceased by his sister, Gloria Jean Newell; his brother-in-laws, Jack Newell and James "Jim" Bishop; and his father-in-law, Frank (Pete) A. Russell.

Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Janet Faye Rowe; his four sons, James Daniel Rowe (Jamie), Andrew Wayne King, Phillip Russell Rowe, and step-son, Robert Warren Ingram, Jr. (Alyssa). His mother, Norma Newsom Rowe; two sisters, Beverly Bishop and Brenda Truett (Russell). Also, survived by three grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; his mother-in-law, Clara Russell; and brother-in-law, Alec Russell.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion during this time. Special thanks to Lorna, Ashley, Lisa, and David through hospice and family members, Beverly and Jennifer for their support.

A graveside service for Daniel will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, June 18 at Ft. McCoy Cemetery.
