Fred Stephen Clark died March 31st, 2020 at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Honorable Judge, H. Sol Clark and Matilda Shapiro Clark.

After graduating from Cornell University and the University of Georgia Law School he practiced law in Savannah from 1962 until 2013.

Fred was the City of Savannah Asst City Attorney and Recorder Pro Tern, 1968- 70, the Town of Thunderbolt Assistant Attorney and Recorder Pro Tem 1971, the Savannah Beach City Attorney and Recorders Court Judge, 1973- 1974, and the Chatham County County Attorney 1981-1984. Chairman 1963, the State Junior Tennis Tournament: Chairman 1963, Board of Directors 1963-1964, the Savannah Jewish Council, Board of Governors 1962-63, the Urban Renewal Advisory Committee: Neighborhood Improvement Committee Chairman 1963; Chairman 1968, the United Jewish Appeal: General Division Chairman 1963, the Jewish Educational Alliance, Men's Club: Finance Section 1963, Corresponding Secretary 1964, Vice President 1966, President 1967, the Combined Federal Campaign: Director 1966, the Savannah Leadership Seminar: Chairman 1968-69, Steering Committee Chairman, the 1st Community Support Program - Savannah State College: Chairman 1969, the 1st Sen. He authored and published Georgia Procedure Civil Procedure: Considerations in Initiating Suit, including Jurisdiction, Pleadings, and Parties, "Limitations ", Georgia Procedure - Civil Procedure: Lawyers Cooperative Publishing Co., Georgia Settlements Law and Strategies, Thompson/West Publishing Co., Encyclopedia of Georgia Law, A Complete Narrative, and Encyclopedic Statement of the Living Law of Georgia, and "Interest and Usury", The Harrison Company.

He was recognized as an Outstanding Young Man of Savannah 1968 and as One of Five Outstanding Young Men of Georgia 1968.

Fred is survived by his three children: Jonathan A. Clark, Robert S. Clark, and Alison Clark Sturm; his son-in-law David Sturm; and his step-grandchildren: Tara Sturm and Megen Sturm.

With concern for the safety and health of our family and friends, a private funeral service was held at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
Remembrances: a charity of the donor's choice.
