David Scott Webster, 52, of Camanche, IA passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Dubuque Union Labor Hall, 1610 Garfield Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials have been established to Guide Dogs of America.
Scott was born July 2, 1968, in Quincy, MA, to Donald E. and Correen A. (O'Handley) Webster Sr.
He was a 1986 graduate of Fulton High School. He then graduated from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport, IA and received an associate's degree as an Electric Engineering Technician. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Harlan County LST. Scott was first employed by Kelly Springfield Tire in Freeport, IL. He then was employed at John Deere in Moline, IL in the experimental lab of product development. For the past five years, Scott was employed as a business representative with the Local 1191 District 6 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers serving one year as its director. He was a member of River Church in Clinton, IA, where he served on the production team. He was very active in his union and held several positions and offices. Among those were: Negotiating Committee, Shop Steward and Shop Committee Chairman at John Deere Product Development, Local Lodge President, Executive Council member of both Illinois and Iowa State Councils of Machinists and was a delegate to several other bodies. Scott enjoyed traveling, bicycling, golf, archery, but most importantly spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Kaleb Webster and Jared Webster; one brother, Donald E. (Celeste) Webster, Jr.; one niece, Olivia Webster; one nephew, Eli "Ellie Mae" Webster; special friend, Jennifer (Young) Marken; step mother, Stacey Webster; one aunt, Cheryl A. (Russell) Smith; one uncle, Gerald R. "Moose" (Pauline) Webster and one step sister, Leanne Allison.
He was predeceased by his parents, Donald E. Webster, Sr. and Correen A. O'Handley and paternal grandparents, Alonzo Grant "Bud" and Georgia May Webster.
