Joyce, Daniel J. KINDERHOOK Daniel J. Joyce, 74, of Kinderhook, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1940 in Laurelton, Queens, to John F. and Helena (Maloney) Joyce. He grew up in the Queens area and attended Suffolk County Community College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955 and served two years, a portion of which was spent in Germany. In 1971, after relocating to Kinderhook, he became a partner in Hatfield-Joyce Plumbing & Heating. He remained in this service business until his retirement in the year 2009. He was a member of the Stuyvesant Falls Fire Company for over 40 years serving as secretary for 38 years. He was also an avid golfer and member of Winding Brook Country Club since the early 1970s. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen; one infant brother, Robert, and brother John A. Joyce. He is survived by his son, Eric Daniel. Also surviving, are his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Richard Hatfield of South Carolina; sister-in-law Sarah Joyce, and three nieces and one nephew of Tennessee. There will be a "Farewell drop in" for both Kathleen and Daniel at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, 1015 Kinderhook St., Valatie, on Saturday, January 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stuyvesant Falls Fire Company, P.O. Box 56, Stuyvesant Falls, NY 12174. The family extends sincere appreciation for all the kindness and support showered upon them.
