William "Bill" Charles Mack, 81 of Lima, was called into the presence of the Lord at 6:43 PM on June 15, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health System, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born January 12, 1940 in Alliance, OH, to Robert and Lois (Manchester) Mack, who preceded him in death.

On November 20, 1981, he married Carol (Ebling) Mack who preceded him in death on October 22, 2014.

Bill was a 1958 graduate of Lima Senior High School and a proud United States Coast Guard Veteran. He studied electrical at Valparaiso Technical and went on to work for WIMA Radio which his father founded in 1948. Later, Bill worked for Lima Cablevision, until he co-founded Buckeye Truck Center with his brother, Dave in 1972; they ran the company together for 40 years. The Mack family has always had a love for boats, this clearly extended to Bill. He was an avid collector of boats, cars, trucks and anything with an engine. Bill received numerous awards for his boat restorations and although he lived in Lima, his second home was Marblehead where he enjoyed restoring boats and being on the water. He was a board member for the Lima Senior Vocational Auto Mechanics Advisory Board, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, ACBS Boating Society, the Model T Club, Lyman Boat Owner's Association, American Historical Truck Society, Chris Craft Antique Boat Club, Sandusky Maritime Museum, Gravel Bar Yacht Club, the Lima Eagles and attended Market Street Presbyterian Church. Most of all, Bill was a proud father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and countless friends. Bill's wonderful sense of humor and inquisitive nature will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him; he did not know a stranger. He would want everyone to remember to "Keep your tailgate up".

Bill is survived by his children, Jeffrey C. Mack of Lima and Julie K. (Jim) Fox of Avoca, IA; step-children, Anne E. Rathburn of Columbus and Amy L. (Robert) Brown of Johns Creek, GA; grandchildren; Emily Mack, Kyle (Jessi) Mack, Colin Mack, Nicholas Fox, Dustin Fox, Christopher Fox, Cody Fox, Grant Rathburn, Griffin Rathburn, Meredith Brown and Hayden Brown; nine great-grandchildren; special partner, Annie Saunders and her children, Patrick (Jamie) Saunders, Katie (Jeremy) Fox and Corrie (Mike) Shiplett, as well as their families whom he loved dearly. Bill is also survived by his brothers, Donald J. Mack of Los Gatos, CA and David E. (Rebecca) Mack of Lakeside; sisters-in-law, Leslie (Mark) Sand and Lori (Tim) Purdy and his nieces and nephews, Bob (Molly) Mack, Tom (Molly) Mack, David (Christine) Mack and Kristine (Ryan) Rufenacht.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Daniel Caleb Mack; brother, Robert A. Mack and niece, Natalie Mack.
