He was born on July 26, 1953 to Rosser Lavelle Young, Sr and Jean (Higginbotham) Young in Philadelphia, MS.
Gerald is survived by, son, Morris (Pam) Herrington, daughters, Liza (Jamey) Randall and Angie (Sam) Smith, brother, Sammy Young, sister, Glenda McKee, 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Camelia Ann Young, parents, Rosser Lavelle Young, Sr. and Jean Young, twin brother, Terry Young, brother, Bubba Young, sister, Cassandra Fountain, and grandson Marcus Herrington.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 17, 2021, after 9:30 a.m. at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Stonewall Cemetery, with Rev. Troy Dew and Rev. Ed Shoemaker officiating.
Burial will take place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Blake John, Norman Young, Bradley Fountain, Justin Smith, Nathan Herrington, Jamey Randall, and Sam Smith
