William Allen Higgins was born on October 28, 1944 in West Salem, Illinois to William Clayton Higgins and Ruby (Magar) Higgins. William passed away on June 7, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

William is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dave Higgins.
He is survived by his 2 loving children, former spouse and 2 grandchildren.

William bravely served his country and fought in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1971, he received the rank of Sergeant First Class with the United States Army before retiring after 23 years of faithful service in 1986. After retiring he went on to work in the commissary at Fort Carson where he was a grocery bagger for his remaining years.

William was a beloved father, solider and grandfather as well as a friend. He loved his family as well as enjoyed photography, riding his road bike and exercising. He adored the mountains and nature and was always seen capturing beautiful pictures of happy times which will forever remain in our memories. William could always put a smile on someone's face and was easily approachable and could talk to you about anything.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Rd, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925 on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 9:00AM.
