Age 77, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Beloved father of Tina Miller (fiance, George Wharton) and the late John Lance Higgins. Loving Pap of Elizabeth Ann McGonigal, Geri Lynn VanAuken, Zachary Higgins, and Rachel Higgins. Cherished great-Pap of Nick VanAuken and Nico VanAuken. Beloved son of the late Edward Thomas and Margaret Mary (Basher) Higgins. Beloved brother of Patricia J. Higgins, Christine Roesar, Maureen Seifert, Mark Higgins, Joann Casillo, and the late Michael E. Higgins and Mary Ann Derr. He is survived by his loving special friend of many years, Linda Purtell, and her son, Michael M. Purtell, Jr. Beloved uncle of David John Bellreng. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends welcome Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. WM. SLATER & SONS, INC. (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington 15211, where a Blessing Service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. Burial at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
