Michael Jones Hamby
Mr. Hamby, of Charlotte North Carolina, suddenly passed away at CMC Pineville after only 52 years, on June 7, 2008. Michael was born in Lenoir ,North Carolina and graduated from Hibriten High School Class of 1974.
He served honorably for 8 years in the United States Navy. He taught technology to thousands of adults in Virginia and North Carolina during his distinguished career as an educator He was a loving kind gentle strong and very wise man. Michael loved his family, his friends, his work and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Laura,; children Erin Hamby, Jonathan Hamby, Kristen (Aaron) Johnson and Kathryn Denaro, and his grandchildren Chase and Jayden Hamby. Also surviving are his parents, Sylvester and Novella Hamby; his 3 brothers, Lan, Kurt and Jeff Hamby, and one sister, Janet Grant.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Michael's memory to wwwfallenheroesfundorg. A visitation will be held June 11 2008 from 2 pm to 4 pm and one hour prior to the service from 6 pm to 7 pm Wednesday evening. A memorial service will follow at McFwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Road Charlotte NC.
