Virginia "Jennie" Charlene Sluder Rogers, 84, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2021, at her home.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Lou Bailey Sluder. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Rogers; sisters: Shirley Franklin, and Mildred Burchette; and brothers: Russell Sluder, and David Sluder.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of Alexander Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her sons: Steve Rogers and wife, Vicki of Alexander, Larry Rogers and wife, Jenny of Leicester, and Hubert Junior Rogers and wife Cindy of Treadway, TN; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 18, 2021, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Freeman, Rev. Gerald Sprinkle, and Rev. Dean Rice officiating. Burial will follow at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
