Michael S. Cohen, 57, of Montpelier, VT and formerly of Avon and Windsor, CT, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021. Born in Hartford, son of Stanley and Janet (Bossler) Cohen, he was raised in Windsor where he graduated from the Loomis-Chaffee School in 1983 and attended Union College. Recently, he was awarded a scholarship to Norwich University to pursue a degree in Actuarial Science with a goal to becoming an actuary.
Michael was a kind and gentle soul with a quick wit who enjoyed books, movies, classic rock, dogs, and tango dancing.
Besides his parents Stanley and Janet Cohen of Avon; he leaves four sisters, Suzanne Hard and her husband Eric of West Hartford, Amy Paul and her husband Neil of Avon, Leslie Silverman and her husband Steve of Bloomfield, and Shayna Luciani of Simsbury; 14 nieces and nephews; and 1 great nephew. Private Family services will be held at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center of Avon. Burial will be in Simsbury Cemetery.
