Ruth V. Thomas, age 90, of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021 while under the care of UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Twp.
Born November 24, 1930 in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Hicks Hodge.
Ruth was a faithful member of St. Peter's Reformed Church in Zelienople. She was employed as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. Ruth enjoyed baking and sharing her baked goods with others.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her five children, Richard (Nona) Thomas of New Castle, William (Sheryl) Thomas of Harmony, Dennis (Jennefer) Thomas of South Carolina, Sharon Ann (Daniel) Kottraba of Renfrew, and Tracy (Robert) Yobp of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Chad, Heather, Andy, Kimberly, Paige, Greg, Nate, Emily and Tristan; her great-grandchildren, Cody, Victoria, Katelyn, Alex and Madison; her great-great-granddaughter, Phoebe; and her sister, Margaret Mahan of Evans City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale A. Thomas, who passed away February 7, 2020; her brother, Allen Hodge; and her sister, Earla Mae Williams.
Ruth's family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, officiating.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
