August 9, 1944 - June 15, 2021

Hortense- Dwain Everett Branch, 76 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday (June 15, 2021) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA his parents were Artis Walter Branch and Ruby Mulkey Branch. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Frances Spikes; and 3 brothers, Allen, Robert, and Dewitt Branch.

Dwain worked many years for CSX Railroad as a Pipefitter before retiring. He was a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church and served in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Branch; son, Christopher Alfred Branch; grandson, Christopher Kyle Branch, all of Hortense; sister, Emma Jean Boatwright, of Hortense; brother-in-law, Gettis Spikes, of Savannah; 3 sisters-in-law, Pat Branch, of Odum, Geraldine Branch, of Hortense, and Linda Branch, also of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning (June 17, 2021) at 11AM at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Jackson and Rev. Larry Altman officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, from 10AM-11AM at the Church.

Burial will follow in Satilla Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be William Smith, Paul Branch, Blake Smith, Trent Smith, Lonny Kinard, Kyle Branch, and Ostin Kinard.

Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
