William L. "Bill" McCormick Jr. passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at John Knox Village Hospice House in Lee's Summit, Missouri at the age of 88. Bill was born May 17, 1935, in Sewickley, PA, to William and Marion McCormick. A 1951 graduate of Sewickley High School, Bill served his country for two years as a paratrooper in the US Army before attending the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, PA, where he met Carol Ann Donnelly. In 1956, he and Carol married. Over the course of more than 20 years, they moved around the country, with Bill's work as a salesman in the industrial supply industry taking them to Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, and finally, to Missouri. Together, Bill and Carol raised 6 wonderful sons.

Upon making their final move to the Kansas City area, Bill and Carol separated, and Bill met Carla Jean Razes. Bill and Carla wed and embarked on a new journey together, moving to Omaha, NE, and Waterloo, IA before finally settling in Lexington, MO after their retirement. After Carla's passing, Bill and Carol reunited and enjoyed a new home at Raintree Lake before transitioning to John Knox Village, where they resided together until shortly before Carol's passing on July 23, 2020.

In addition to his wife, Carol, he is preceded in death by his parents: William and Marion McCormick; Carla McCormick; and a grandson, Robert McCormick. He leaves behind six sons and daughters-in-law, William "Buster" (Mary Ann), John (Judy), Bob (Lisa), Tim (Tina), Tom (Misty), and Dennis (Lisa); 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A private memorial service for the family will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Bill's name be made to the Veteran's Community Project or Wayside Waifs. Arrangements: Chapel of Memories at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, Missouri.
