Elizabeth "Betty" Horvath Schafer, age 63, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.
Born July 27, 1946, in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ladislaw and Olga Shostik Horvath. She had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ most of her life.
Since retiring from Unisys Corporation, Betty worked for 3M, and recently worked for Comfort Keepers in Flemington, NJ, where she enjoyed caring for her clients.
Betty was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Frenchtown Bowling League. She loved to cook, entertain, play bingo, and vacation in Las Vegas.
Predeceased by her parents and her brother Harry, she was survived by her beloved husband of forty-four years, John Schafer; her children: Lori Campbell, Joseph Schafer, and Kathy McGuire; a brother, Paul Horvath; her four grandchildren: Katelynn, Hunter, Savannah, and Emiley; and her dear friends, Maryann Presciti and Betty Kurzenberger.
Betty was a very dedicated person who would do anything for anyone in need, and will be dearly missed by all of her family, friends and all who knew her.
Funeral Services and interment were private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
