Frank King Chandler, Jr. died peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at his home in Alexandria, surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of June Young Chandler, whom he married in 1962. They spent 57 incredible years together, a true storybook romance. Frank was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, businessman and friend.

Frank, Jr. was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on September 19, 1939 to Frank King Chandler, Sr. and Mildred Svebek Chandler and was the oldest of three siblings. Frank grew up in Alexandria and graduated from Bolton High School in 1957.

He graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) Baton Rouge in 1961, where he met his wife and built lifelong friendships in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was a devoted LSU Tiger and loved the purple and gold deeply- a fixture in Tiger Stadium on Saturdays during football season.

Starting in 1961, Frank enlisted in the U. S Army, serving our country in El Paso, Texas, then South Korea and finally Redondo Beach, California. Upon returning to Alexandria he began to work with his father in the business he had established, building, leasing and managing commercial real estate. He remained active in the family business of Chandler Corporation until his death.

His curiosity, sense of adventure and zest for life were abundant. In addition to his passion for all things golf, he enjoyed hunting, and serving as a little league coach. He also became a certified scuba diver and a VFR pilot.

Frank, Jr. was also deeply committed to his community in Central Louisiana. He was on the Board of Directors for Hibernia National Bank. He was an unassuming champion for education, quietly donating over the years to almost every Rapides Parish elementary, middle and high school. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church his whole life and served as Chairman of the Church's Board of Trustees, on the Board of Deacons and on the finance and property committees.

Frank, Jr. possessed a deep and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
His humor and thoughtfulness were ever-present and he was never shy about expressing his charm with a warm "Hey darlin!" and a beaming smile. A gifted storyteller, he shared his adventures and experiences with all who would listen. He truly lived a full life.

Frank, Jr. is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, June. He is survived by daughters, Chris Y. Chandler and her husband, Daryl Tom of Yountville, CA; Jennifer C. Moulder and her husband, Andrew of Alexandria; a son, Frank Chandler, III and his wife, Teresa of Alexandria; granddaughters, Isabel Chandler of Waco, TX; Catherine Chandler of Alexandria and grandson, Frank Chandler, IV also of Alexandria; a brother, Chandler of Guana Cay, Bahamas and sister, Cathy Chandler of Boulder, CO.
