Obituary:

K.W. ALLARD, PIONEER, IS CALLED BY DEATH.
Had He Lived Eight More Days Would Have Celebrated Golden Wedding May 28.

Kenton W. Allard, a resident of this community for 60 years, died Monday at his home on Quinn Avenue after several months of poor health. He was born October 11, 1856 at Colden, New York, and came to Almer Township in 1869, settling on the farm now owned by Lorenzo Gue.

Had Mr. Allard lived until May 28, only eight days more, he and Mrs. Allard would have celebrated their golden wedding. They were married in 1879 at Vassar, the bride's maiden name being Miss Lessitta Simmons. Besides the wife, Mr. Allard is survived by five children and two grandchildren. The children are Miss C. Maude Allard, teacher in Akron schools; Miss Della Allard of Hastings; Mrs. John Reichert of Caro; Claude J. Allard of Richmond, Virginia; and Kenton E. Allard of Dearborn. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Anna Marsaw of Caro.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. N.D. Braby officiating. Mr. Allard had been an elder of the church for many years. Arrangements were directed by Huston-Arms and burial was made in Caro Cemetery.
