Carl Wayland Garrett passed away at Humboldt General Hospital. He was born to Samuel and Cora B. Orteg Garrett. Carl had lived in Winnemucca since 1937, coming from Oklahoma. Carl was a cattle broker and graduated from high school in Mayfield, OK. He is survived by his son, Sam of Oakdale, CA; daughters, Judy Hanley of Yerington, NV, and Carlene Stewart of Manhatton, MT; companion, Liz Herrera of Winnemucca; stepdaughter, Dede Arruti of Sacramento; stepsons, Tyler and Colin Pentel, both of Reno; sisters, Pauline Roberts of Eric, OK and Juanita Goodwin of Orange, CA; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His daughter, Pat Sorenson, three sisters and one grandson preceded him in death.
