Edward L. Dougherty IV, age 63, resident of Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born on January 5, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was a son of Edward and Dolores Dougherty (Ehrhart). He was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School. Edward worked as a Computer Programmer in the banking industry.
Edward was a devout born-again Christian. He overcame a bout with a brain tumor in 1987, survived the loss of a beloved son, and worked hard as a single parent from 1992. In his free time you could find Ed cheering on The Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, Villanova, and Penn State. He loved attending PSU games and would find time to take his boys along too.
He is survived by two sons, Edward L. (Kristen) Dougherty V, Joshua A. (Courtney) Dougherty of Schwenksville, PA; two brothers, John Dougherty of Hollidaysburg, PA, Charles Dougherty of Reading, PA; grandchildren, Taylor, Riley, Eric, Edward, Angelise, Benjamin, James, & Elijah; former spouse, Donna (Kuhn) Dougherty of Royersford, PA. Edward was predeceased by father, Edward L. Dougherty, mother, Dolores Ehrhart (Dougherty), and son, Eric D. Dougherty.
