Bernice Lee (Hommel) Decker Facemire 84 of Franklin, IN passed away Thursday June 10, 2021 at Kindred North Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

She was born January 4, 1937 in Franklin, IN to Carl C. Hommel and Mary Gertie (Bingham) Hommel. She married Damon Decker on July 3, 1954 in Franklin, IN, he preceded her in death on November 24, 2000. She later married Norman E. Facemire on August 30, 2003 in Franklin, IN, he preceded in death on August 5, 2015.

She attended Franklin High School.

Bernice had worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin for 30 years, retiring in 2001.

She was a member of Amity Baptist Church and the American Legion Post #205 Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, crocheting and spending time with family and sitting on her front porch with her dog Maggie Mae.

Survivors include her daughters Pam Poff (Ricky) of Franklin, IN and Sherry Holley (Terry) of Trafalgar, IN, seven grandchildren Danny Denton of Edinburgh, IN, Michael Denton of Columbus, IN, Katy Poff of Franklin, IN, Keenan Poff of Franklin, IN, Melody Walker of Franklin, IN, Brandon Abbott (Deidra) of Franklin, IN and Ryan Sharp (Amy) of Morgantown, IN, sixteen great grandchildren Ariel, Aiden, Zoey, Austin, Ally, Anthony, Annaliese, Luke, Erica, McKayla, Makenzie, April, Emma, Sophia, Johnny, Carter and one great great granddaughter Lilianne Merimon and two expecting, brothers Richard Hommel (Carol) of North Ft. Myers, FL and Phillip Hommel (Johnna) of Sarasota, FL, sister Vicky Jones of Columbus, IN, sister in law Melvina Hommel of CA and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Damon Decker and Norman E. Facemire, and brothers Larry Hommel and Bill Hommel and a sister Judy Hommel Linville.

Pastor Doug Brown of Amity Baptist Church will conduct a service on Wednesday June 16, 2021 at 1PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed for family and friends can connect at www.swartzmortuary.com/obituary/bernice-facemire. Friends may call on Tuesday June 15, 2021 from 4PM until 8PM at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
