Sandra Jane (Hipsher) Hulsizer, age 83, passed away June 12, 2021 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 12, 1937 to the late Russell and Della (Hopper) Shepler.

Her mother passed away a day after she was born and she was lovingly adopted by the late Ernest C. and Opal (Parker) Hipsher. She had been married to the late Ronald Deitrich with whom she had five children. On October 28, 1983 she married William M. Anderson and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1995. On December 20, 1997 she married Joseph Hulsizer and he preceded her in death on December 28, 2018.

After high school she studied to be an x-ray technician at Memorial Hospital until she married. She also worked as a typist in x-ray for several years as needed. She retired from Peak Community Services as Executive Secretary in 1992. She had also been employed at Hillis & Hillis Attorneys and Kelly Leeman & Associates. She started a pet setting service after retirement because of her love of animals and was lovingly called the "dog whisperer".

She had been very active as a parent and board member of Woodlawn Center (later known as Peak Community Services). She loved taking care of her flowers and working in the yard. In her younger years she loved making/decorating cakes and made several wedding cakes for members of her family. She loved making clothes for her daughters and herself. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren more than they will ever know.

She was a life member of Delta Chi Sigma Sorority and had served as State Secretary and Treasurer; a 50 year member of the Royal Center Chapter of the Eastern Star; life member of the VFW; member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Olde Towne Chapter and 40-40 Home Economics Club.

She is survived by her children: Michael (Karen) Deitrich; Lisa (Randy) Small; Melissa (Art) Newman; and Robert (Bobby) Deitrich; Daughter-in-law Ronda Deitrich; 14 Grandchildren: Jason (Amy) Deitrich, Megan (Jeff) Stuart, Ryan (Jessica) Deitrich, Lauren (Jason) Minke, Erin (Cory) Coleman, Audrey, Ross and Reid Deitrich, Devon, Jessica, and Kendra Richardson, Brianna Deitrich and Peyton Newman; great grandchildren: Jacob, Lane, Ava, Lucy, Olivia, Kaysynn, Tylee, Kellen and Harper, 4 step children, 12 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by son Daryl Deitrich; grandson Adam Deitrich; and brother Ernest T. Hipsher.

Per Sandra's wishes there will be no public visitation. A private burial will be held in St. John's Cemetery.

Gundrum Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
