Verna Jean Brewer-McFadden was born on December 14, 1955 in Hughes, Arkansas to the late DeWitt T. Brewer, Sr. and Georgia Brewer-Moten. Verna Jean peacefully transitioned to her new home on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
She confessed her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Lee of Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Seypel, Arkansas.
Verna graduated from West Memphis Senior High School in 1975. After graduation, she attended Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas where she majored in Special Education. While attending college, she met the love of her life, Glenn McFadden, whom she wed on January 20th 1995. From that union came two sons, Justin McFadden and Jordan McFadden. Verna retired from the University of Arkansas for Medical Science Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: E.L. Moten; Jack Moten; Dewitt T. Brewer, Jr.; and Charles Moten, Sr.
