Theodora "Dora" Fairchild, 100

Theodora "Dora" Fairchild, 100, of Pilot Mound, Iowa, died Friday, February 17, 2006, at the Ogden Manor. While she was sleeping Angels came and took her to her heavenly home.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden. Pastor Rod Johnson officiated. Burial was at Lawn Cemetery in Boxholm. Visitation was Monday, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden.

Theodora Gunvar Johnson was born on August 30, 1905, in Oslo, Norway, the daughter of Askel Theodore and Ovidia Christine [Caroline] (Arneson) Johnson. At the age of 7 [1910] she moved to the United States with her family. Dora attended schools in Boone County. She was united in marriage to Rollin Thompson in 1933, and he passed away in 1937. She married Charles Johnson in 1939, and he passed away in 1959. Dora was a homemaker and had worked at the Boone County Hospital in the 1960s. On May 8, 1967, Dora was united in marriage to Lester Fairchild at Warsaw, Missouri. Lester passed away in 1972.

Dora belonged to the United Methodist Church in Pilot Mound where she was active in U.M.W. She enjoyed tatting, crocheting and gardening. She also liked visiting with family and friends over coffee.

Survivors include a daughter, Eleanor Schuttler of Mesa, Arizona; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Rollin Thompson, Charles Johnson and Lester Fairchild; one son and daughter-in-law, Harold Carr Jr. and Anna Mae Carr; two step-sons, Dale Fairchild and Richard Fairchild; two brothers, Ivar Johnson and Ted Johnson; two sisters, Anna Olson and Evelyn Carlson; a granddaughter; a great-great-granddaughter, Angie Anderson; and a niece, Harriet King.
