James (Jim) L. Gibson Jr.

Beloved husband for 49 years of the late Marlene Gibson (nee Lewis). Loving son of the late Josephine Gibson (nee Zenni) and loving brother to Jan Mathews. Devoted son in law of the late Martin and Helen Lewis. Loving father of Linda (Mark) Sivik, Jim (Stacey) and Jeff (Francine) Gibson. Devoted grandfather "Papa" of Ashley and Aubrie Sivik, Jonathan, Nathan, Jeremy, Shaun and Aaron Gibson. Loving companion of Pam Buck. Dearly beloved friend of many and so very kind and considerate to all. Passed away after a courageous and strong-willed battle with cancer on June 9, 2021, at 86 years of age. Jim was a graduate of the Elder High School Class of 1952 and the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Member of the United States Coast Guard Reserve for 10 years. Jim retired after 30 years of dedicated public service with Hamilton County, Ohio and the City of Cincinnati, which began in 1979 as the Director of the Department of Employee Services for the Hamilton County Commissioners and County Administrator and retiring as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Department of County Facilities. Served as chairperson for Customer Advisory Panel for ChoiceCare. Jim was a former President of the American Association of Credit Counselors, Inc. and President of the Active Adjustment Agency, Inc., which Jim founded and provided credit counseling services for over 20 years and was awarded and saluted as an astute businessman and truly fine Ohioan by The Ohio House of Representatives. Campaign Manager for many years for the late Honorable Judge Norman Murdock, former Hamilton County Commissioner and member of The Ohio House of Representatives. Jim volunteered years of dedicated service to St. Martin of Tours Church and school as a member of the Finance Committee and member of the Education Committee. Most important to Jim was spending time with family and friends, watching the Cincinnati Reds and playing golf. Visitation HODAPP FUNERAL HOME, 6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd., Liberty Township, OH 45044, on Monday, June 14 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 15 at 10AM at St. Martin of Tours Church, 3720 St. Martin Place, Cincinnati, OH 45211, with visitation 9:30AM prior to service.
