Born in Austin on March 30, 1931, Tom Deering Lloyd, 73, passed away on August 16, 2004, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Tom spent his life in the company of friends and family, fishing and playing cards at the Pedernales River. Tom worked for many years at his family's business, Economy Engraving Company in Austin, where he enjoyed participating on the Company bowling team. Tom enjoyed his most recent years in Nacogdoches, Texas, in the care of his niece and her husband, Debbie Bell Adkins and Danny Joe Adkins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Eugene Lloyd and Mary Julius Lloyd, and by his brother, Maury Allen Lloyd. Tom is survived by his daughter, Diana Paddison and her husband, Randy Paddison of Austin; a nephew, Maury Arthur Lloyd of Austin; two nieces, Debbie Bell Adkins and her husband, Danny Joe Adkins of Lufkin and Alysia Gail Wightman and husband, Michael Joseph Wightman of Austin; four grandchildren, Damian Lloyd, Stephen Lloyd, D.J. Lloyd, and Zachary Paddison; three grandnieces, Ashley Ann Adkins, Jodi Leigh Adkins, and Haley Nicole Wightman; and one-grandnephew, Jacob Michael Wightman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2004, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2004, at Austin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in the honor of Tom Lloyd to the American Diabetes Association, 4425 W. Airport Fwy., Suite 130, Irving, Texas 75062.
