Rockton - Pvt. James Alfred Williams, 22, a member of the 2nd shore party, 1st battalion, 2nd Marines, died Friday in the U.S. navy hospital, Naples, Italy.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Williams were informed by the government that death was due to aplastic anemia.
He was born Jan. 16, 1931, in Poplar Grove, and attended schools in Sycamore and Leffingwell, Ill., before graduating from Hononegah high school. He also attended Beloit college and the University of Illinois before entering the Marine service in May, 1952.
Surviving are his parents; four sisters, Mrs. Elaine Needham, Kaneville, Wis., Mrs. Ella Mae Pankey, Algonquin, Mrs. Irene Ellis and Carol, both of Rockton; and a brother, Wayne, Rockton.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
